Companion Steps provides compassionate support through movement, connection, and care. Whether walking a beloved pet for someone recovering from illness, or walking with neurodivergent youth or young adults building life skills, we meet clients where they are — step by step. 👣🐾
Our founder brings years of experience supporting individuals and families. With advanced degrees in Exercise Physiology, Biostatistics, and Research Methodology, and a background in healthcare research and informatics, Companion Steps is grounded in a strong foundation of knowledge and practical expertise. Decades of working with neurodivergent youth and young adults through advocacy, mentorship, and skill-building, shape our approach, emphasizing personalized, consistent, and meaningful support.👣🐾
Our inspiration comes from personal experience and a love of animals. Volunteer work with a dog rescue since 2013 has reinforced the healing bond between people and pets. After navigating personal health challenges, walking became both a necessity and a gift, sparking the idea to support others who may temporarily need help caring for pets or desire structured, supportive movement. 👣🐾
Our services are non-medical and non-clinical. Companion Steps offers:
-
Dog walking and pet support for clients with short- or long-term health limitations,
-
Walk-and-talk sessions for neurodivergent youth and young adults, focusing on executive function, communication, confidence, and life skills.
Every step counts. We’re honored to walk them with you. 👣🐾
